Joe Must Go...Sorry, Mr. Rogan...

I've met Joe Rogan. I like Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan is a huge fan of MMA, and very charismatic as well, but I believe it's high time for Rogan to start providing a function other than color for the UFC. I believe this, again, after hearing Frank Mir commentate for the WEC last night.

It's one thing to train MMA, which Rogan does do, but it's another thing to be an expert like Mir is (same goes for Bas, Randy, Frank S, etc). Mir's knowledge and ability to commentate far surpasses anything Rogan has ever done, and in addition, he's respected by the fighters and their camps, something Rogan is not really (this is factual). Yes, people like Rogan. Fighters do not care about his take on the sport, and I've been with fighters watching the UFC. If there are any Rogan comments they are all negative.

Rogan should be doing the weigh-ins, and some ringside stuff. There's enough room within the UFC for him to function. But his role of being a somewhat famous person who brings people to the sport has been well served. It's no longer needed.

Listen to Mir call a fight, then think about Rogan, and if you're lucky listen to Rogan and Goldberg call the Houston Alexander/Keith Jardine fight. It is the WORST called, totally talked over fight I've ever heard. Mir doesn't do that stuff. He seems more professional than both Goldie and Rogan. And it's sad that the WEC has a better on-air staff than the UFC.

I know Dana likes Joe, etc, but it's high time a true professional was brought in to call the action. And before you go on hugging Joe's balls, listen to someone else first, compare it to Rogan, and THEN comment.

How about instead of getting rid of Rogan who I like getting somebody good to go along with him?

This is JMO but I feel Joe Rogan is a great commentator. If anything pair him up with someone better than Goldberg. Then again I've only heard Mir commentate once.

Because Rogan doesn't do play by play, and talks over every other person. Having him with a pro would only further expose him.

This isn't about liking him...he can function on the sidelines, so to speak. He's humorous, sure, but he's not that good at calling the game.

Again, I like him too. It's not about that. I LIKED Dennis Miller on MNF. He sucked at doing it.

agreed, i like when they put randy along with him since randy does provide a different take on things, and i think it would be great to see mir commentate along side joe

Goldberg is not that good either. If you've ever heard GUS JOHNSON call a basketball game, or a boxing match, THAT'S what the UFC needs.

Gus Johnson with Mir would be outstanding.

This thread is NOT about GOLDBERG, who sucks in his own right.

I think they should just add another in the booth. Randy usually does a good job, but his voice/charisma dont really get the job done. Now if you leave rogan there to boost the excitement with his shenanigans, and then just add randy/mir ... I think it would be pretty solid.
