Jeff Monson is two fights away from being cut from the UFC

every time a fighter goes for the title in the ufc if he is not favoured or deemed marketable he is two fights away from being cut.

Monson is in this category. What will happen is he will lose to tim sylvia than be mayched up with an up n comer and if he loses that fight he is cut.

E.G. The crow fought franklin than swick and is now cut.

Also Trigg fought hughes than st.pierre and was than cut. Im sure there are lots of other examples.

if he has a boring fight then yes...but the UFC knows hes exciting on the groudn vs a guy with a bad ground game. he can sub guys in awesome ways (hinkle).

i didn't think trigg and crow were boring. they had bad showings after their championship fight but still they should have at least some sort of job security.

exactly my point

what about sherk. He lost the title fight and was cut without even getting a rebound fight.

Im curious to see how ufc handle babalu cos I bet he is VERY close to being cut.

i dont think they'll drop Monson, the UFC likes to play off Monson's anti-war thing, he's gotten the UFC alot of press coverage 'cause of it too...i think he's a valuable marketing tool.

what would be interesting if Monson fought on the Ultimate Figh Night card in the marine base, imagine that.

The ufc will keep whatever fighters get a big reaction from the fans. Joe Riggs has lost how many fights? He has a pretty good fanbase. Nick Diaz lost 3 straight televised fights and was still brought back. (even though he wasn't fighting for the title)
