I disagree.
Look back over the last 10 UFC events and how many were stopped from those cuts?
The fights were those elbows were thrown:
Hughes/GSP III
JRock/Warmachine
KenFlo/JLau
A.Silva/Lutter
in none of those fights did the elbows result in a stoppage.
in half of those fights the guy that threw them went on to lose.
in half of those fights the guy that threw them went on to win.
cuts near the crown almost never result in a tko (cut)
think, read, research, deliberate. don't hate something just because you've heard someone else say it.
feel free to double check the things I've typed.

He's young and he's got talent. No one that young is done unless their name is Joe Riggs.
But, really, the problem with Lauzon is that he's not "great" at anything. He's good enough in all areas to string together some wins, however, there's no part of his game that you can point out and say "there is his strength, everyone in the division is going to have a problem with his ______." Until he has something to fill in the blank with, he's going to be a .500 fighter in the UFC.

Since JRock/WarMachine, those "downward" elbows have been showing up a lot more.
I think after GSP/Serra II, we'll see a lot more knees ala GSP.
