At least the people in charge know whats going on, and hopefully PRIDE can keep afloat and make a dent so we will have increased fighter payouts, more crossover promoting, and better tailored cards.

We knew this shit from the start. It sucks being the only ones around who can think huh?

ya but in one match he got owned by vitor in under a minute, a decision loss to tito and in beat a no name in tony pettara. silva's ufc matches have imo no impact on his fame in america if anything they have very little. most ppl wen they research silva and see his fight with vitor they're gonna think he's a can and that chuck will kill him.

This is true. MMA may be bigger in Japan, but it has peaked... there is very little potential left. Most folks in Japan know what Pride is. Some like it and some don't. On the other hand, in the US most people are still unaware of what the current MMA scene is.. this is a market yet to be tapped with heaps more potential.

Liddell will walk through Silva like he has every other fighter at 205. He's as good as it gets right now.

I'm a big fan of Liddell but nobody walks through Silva. This will be a tough fight and I really have no idea who will win. I know it won't be easy for either fighter though.

Unfortunately, most American MMA fans don't know who Pride is. When they see Wandy fighting in the UFC, they are not going to say "Hey, it is that Juan guy from Pride, he is a worldbeater". They are going to say "Who is this fucker, Chuck is gonna kill him". Dana isn't going to promote him as the Pride champ, that would just be stupid, he is going to promote him as a japanese star ready to jump in the big leagues, and the American (casual) fans are going to believe it. Very easy to make people believe something they have never seen, after all.
Even if Wandy walks through Chuck it isn't going to crush the UFC like many seem to think, it might give them a boost in American PPV buys. Most casual fans who watch the UFC PPV are going to think Wandy is a UFC fighter, so if he crushes Chuck, he will be that badass guy that crushed the Iceman. Doesn't mean Pride is going to get that big of a foothold in the US, will help, though, don't get me wrong.

Good, I hope they come here and dismantle the UFC monopoly. It will create more options fo fans and fighters alike. I hope the WFA also continues as well. An open market is better for consumers.
