If you thought GSP would dominate BJ....

.....how did you feel after the 1st round? After seeing BJ dominate standing, landing combos and jabs, jabs and combos. Not trying to shit on GSP, he's the man, just wondering cause I remember people saying that Georges was going to "run through" BJ and all this other shit. Did you know who BJ was, did you know he was that good? Did you think he was just a ground fighter?

There may have been some who said GSP would run through BJ, but I wasn't one of them. I did however say that GSP was gonna out srtrike him; a close call. It's just that his face couldn't take the punishment as much as BJ's could. BJ surprised me with his striking ability actually.

I knew it was gonna be a very tight fight, but yes, GSP won. I don't care what anybody says and how they try to spin the outcome, GSP won the split decision.

Cecil People's a dumb idiot; 29-28 for Penn? WTF.

Yeah, it was a close fight but I don't see how Penn won round 2. He didn't do anything and Georges scored two pretty solid takedowns. The shot to the eye was questionable, but the uppercut that caught Georges on the nose was legit and definitly broke it.

It was a great fight but I think all the rounds were pretty easy to score.

If BJ Penn is so good why did the fight go to decision? Why didn't he end it earlier.... He lost FAIR AND SQUARE!

STOP BITCHINGGGGGGGGGG!

BJ Penn lost.

And I remember a proportionate amount of people saying that BJ was going to 'run through' GSP.

I thought Pierre could win the fight on the feet alone. After the first round I was praying that GSP could find a way to win, and he did! Idk why there is so much complaining on these boards about the winner. This was considered the fight of the year for the reason that it was super close and anyone could win. Just appreciate a good fight when you see one and stop bitching.

I was very surprised to see BJ winning the stand-up in the first round.

I don't know how he was able to work around GSP's reach and speed.

ive been a fan for a few years and i saw the fight with penn VS hughes... i knew it would be close.. but i never thought i would have seen ST Pierrie dominated like he was the first round.. im defiantly glad he won tho.

holy shit no. i love GSP but i knew he was coming to this fight as the underdog. i pretty much figured there would be no way he could stop penn. my friends and i wrote down our predictions and i said gsp by decision. (sorry, but i feel entitled to a small amount of own horn-tooting)

the people who said that GSP was going to walk through BJ are possibly even more wrong than the people who are now saying that BJ was robbed. this was best comeback i've seen in a while. he won it on pure heart. he proved he is the better man: gsp says "we are all one" and bj says "i don't see how he won that fight" the more deserving man won.
