If a guy beats you twice...
I'd always understood that if you fight a guy twice and he beats you both times, that pretty much means he's better than you and you're not going to beat him.
Babalu is never going to beat Chuck. Chuck is never going to beat Rampage. Josh Barnett is never going to beat CroCop. Sakuraba is never going to beat Wanderlei Silva.* And so on.
Yet in the post-fight of Rampage/Liddell bout last weekend, Rampage called out Wanderlei Silva, and a couple other guys who beat him. The question is this: Can Rampage beat Silva? Or is that just a pipe dream? The boastful words of a proud warrior who was high on his last victory?
Can you guys think of any examples of someone getting beat twice by an opponent, and then coming back and earning a victory over the guy in their third fight? And I'm not talking about Chuck v Randy, where Randy won the first fight and Chuck won the next two. I'm talking about a situation where one guy won the first two fights, but the other guy won their third battle. I'd love to believe Rampage could beat Silva, but I can't think of an example where something like that has ever happened. What do you think?
*I know Barnett has lost to CroCop three times, but one was a freak injury; I know that Sakuraba has actually lost to Silva three times.
