Damn, Fedor is the man!
Nog WILL submit Fedor one day........even if he has to armbar him in the nursing home to do it.

i would agree totally as well. i think he improved practically all of his weaknesses that Barnett took advantage of in the first fight by the second fight with the main areas being his gameplan and his clinch. he did a great job in the first fight making it exciting, trying to get dominant position and sub Barnett but he wasn't winning the submission match. In the second fight he changed it up used his much better ground control to pound on Barnett. he landed way more ground and pound and didn't focus on passing or submitting. He also improved his clinch a whole lot. Barnett was dominating in the clinch with knees in the first fight, and Nog was handling him with the Thai clinch in the second fight and he even landed good kicks. That made his already better boxing way more effective. He fought jiujutsu vs catchwrestling the first match saw that Barnett almost sub'd him, and humbly he approached the second fight as a striker-wrestler and dominated. Nog is incredibly smart with his training and unparalleled at overcoming adversity.

That to me is not the characteristics of the greatest fighter to ever live. He's a beast at surviving and on the ground, but I'd need a little more ability not to get beat up in order to award him that title.

Sorry I guess!
To me that's what makes him the best. With no time limits he would always win.

Nearly subbed is not subbed. He beat the crap out of Barnett in the rematch. He beat everyone not named Fedor. He doesn't have that many top fighters to face. I think after a couple more fights he should try to fight Fedor one last time and then retire regardless of the outcome. He is already one of the greatest MMA legends.

wow this is rrreally hypothetical. Maybe rankings wise he IS number 2, but that doesn't mean he's not the most entertaining, beat, stoic, DOWN-ASS & never backin' down fighter this century.

When the movie citizen kane came out it wasn't nearly as highly regarded as it is now. Im pretty sure it wasn't a box office smash

So an analogy is that, just because your fav. movie (magnolia for instance) didn't gross as much as Lindsay Lohan's nose snorted in, doesn't make it ANY LESS of a film. Why the hell plays favorites anyway?
