If Bas Came Out of Retirement...

Where would he stand in terms of rankings? This question assumes that he has the time to get back into shape and have a couple tune-up fights. So where would he be? Could he still compete, or would he be innefective?

He would hold his own against a gatekeeper, but just like all the other aged talent out there, he does not have what it takes to keep up with the current champs and contenders.

Bas would never come back as a full-time fighter, but somehow I think he might come out of retirement and do some dream matchup for a shitload of money. Perhaps a match with Shamrock, Royce, Sakuraba or RICKSON might be a possibilty.

......... he wouldnt do himself any justice compared to when he was in his prime.

And i dont think he'd beat Liddell, staying active and having the sort of training and time invested in you that a champ has means alot, Bas would be too rusty.

He personally said he would only come out of retirement to fight with Rickson, and no one else. So I am not sure how his ranking would be affected by beating or losing to Rickson.

he's an incredible fighter and in contrast to many fighters who retire and stop practicing he continued to evolve especially in submissions. he learned so much since he retired plus he keeps in shape cuz he trains fighters.

He would definetly be good in LHW and i could imagine him giving a lesson to the iceman and tito so badly!!!

I would wish so bad that he could come back cuz he's just an incredible fighters who has heart to fight, but the problem is that with age he began accumulating injuries and pain and also had trouble sleeping at night and wanted to take care of his family so that's why he quitted fighting.

Now may be after few yrs that he rested and settled with his faily, he could perhaps sign few contracts fights against shamrock ken or frank, saku or royce or may be rickson if he finally don't chicken and accept to face him like a man inside a ring!
