An Idea to help fans familiarize themsleves with new UFC fighters

Like the guy who wrote the article on the front page said, the UFC needs to give fans more reason to cheer for a fighter then just a cool tattoo or hair. I think the UFC should buy the rights to show fights of the newer UFC fighters from the smaller promotions that they faught in before they reached the UFC, then, host them for free on their website for anyone to watch. That way, it people would have an idea about that person's fighting stlye, attitude etc.

As long as the UFC made it worth the smaller events while, i'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with it.

True but i think the kind of people that are that interested enough to download or stream content on the website would probably be versed in youtube and sherdog, etc. It would be more important to show those fights on Spike TV as a part of Unleashed or better yet a show specifically about first timers in the UFC. I remember MTV used to premiere new unknown bands on a show years ago to get people familiar with them. A "breakout" fighter's show would do more good than the website in my opinion.

Yeah good call. But are you talking about fans new to UFC or as means to introduce new fighters to already established fans? Because if you're saying they should do this to new UFC fans then I think the idea would be lost in new fans not really knowing styles etc. Know what I mean?
But if you mean to introduce new fighters to established fans then yeah its a good idea. Not everyone knows about searching youtube for rare fight clips.

I agree and I think the smaller promotions would be ok with the UFC using the video of the fighters provided they mentioned the promotions name a couple of times over the air.

Have you ever tried to find an extreme challenge fight on youtube? Or KOTC? It's next to impossible, and plus, if they owned the rights they could promote it during ppv's and ufn's without having to worry about getting sued.

And I was talking about doing this for established fans, so they could get to know the fighters making their debut.

Id like that, but Itd be alot of money to host the actual fights. They could do like what Pride does and show the footage as they describe them who the fighter is (they show clips from UFC, or KOTC or whatever and just say on top "COPYRIGHT OF KOTC INC" or some shit)

They could at the very least mash together like a five minute highlight reel of all the new fighters and put it on the countdown all week beforehand on Spike.
