I THINK he cares...?
For starters, I'm not a hater. I like Bonnar. But has anyone else noticed his apparent lackluster effort in his past few fights? He HAD to know in the second round against Rashad that he was about to lose a decision. He HAD to know he was losing to Griffen.
He showed no urgency! He was never in danger of being KO'd, but he did nothing to turn the tide of either of these fights. When you are so obviously losing a fight, wouldn't you want to do everything you could to get a KO/Sub or at least try to get ahead on the cards?
His recent fights seem to follow a pattern: He starts of on the defensive. He gets hit, and occaisionally strikes back. He throws a couple beautiful albeit ineffectual kicks. Then he goes on on the defensive again.
Bonnar's a good fighter, no doubt there. But he seems to have lost some urgency, some fighting spirit. At first I thought it could have been to to the passing of Carlson Gracie, Sr. I don't know.
One thing is for certain: Bonnar will never win another fight unless he gets that fighting spirit back.
