I think close fights like shogun/machida and forrest/page should go to the champion

That should be the general criteria for razor thin decisions.. it's bs that forrest won his fight against rampage but shogun loses his fight against machida, pick one or the other.

Those 2 fights are quite similar but the decisions are completely different.

I don't. Champions shouldn't get special rules. If they can't finish then they're subjected to the judges just like everyone else.

I agree. THe idea that champions should get the nod in close fights is tantamount to saying that the champion *walks into the fight with an extra point or two on the scorecard.* This is a problem, because then the champion will be less aggressive, knowing that if it's close, the champion will get the nod.
