Yep that was awesome. He came came out all showboating and then acted like a fucking douche by not touching gloves. Stevenson was humble and friendly the entire time.

Cocky fucker got PWN3D HARD. I loved that shit!

I was rootin' for him, but I knew the odds were stacked against him. I always thought (and said so) Stevenson was probably the worst possible style matchup for him in the entire UFC LW division. Strong wrestler with very good submissions, that style spells disaster for Melvin and it was clear to see. He has a chance against anyone, but until he drastically improves his ground game, he will continue to win a fight or two here and then lose the next. He's not going to challenge for a title with that kind of weakness in his game. Perhaps he has improved it and he just got caught. Mishima got caught in the same way by Stevenson and his ground game is somewhat respected.

Piss on his background/upbringing. Being a decent human being is a choice. I agree, I wasnt a huge Stevenson fan before this fight but I have a whole new respect for the guy. Most fighters after beating a blowhard like Melvin so quickly would have danced around and rubbed it in his face. Instead Joe was down on the matt consoling Guillard and showing real concern for the guy, who truly didnt even deserve that courtessy after the crap that he talked. Joe Stevenson = class act

I don't like Melvin, and was rooting for Joe. But Melvin tapped 3 goddamn seconds
into the choke. Its not like Joe had an arm or foot or something that was going to
snap unless he tapped quick. I am not questioning Melvin striking or strength, but I
am convinced he lacks heart.

Every top fighter has heart - this fight should prove once and for all that Melvin is not
a top fighter. I know Joe is tough, but Melvin has no heart.

I never was a big fan of Stevenson, just because I didn't like his fighting style. Tonight though was awesome, just how relaxed and effortless he made that guillotine look. My wife was watching with me and said "well at least Joe was nice for not busting up his face infront of Melvin's mother." Was a great moment.

I couldn't agree more. There are very few fighters that I don't like, but Guillard is one of them. He and Diaz. Both are very talented, skilled fighters, but are cocky asses.
