I think that the fighters earn every penny that they win and I think that he should get paid better, but Huerta is out of his mind by demanding that. I hope that he and the UFC came in good terms I love to see Huerta in more fights in the UFC.

Typically with sports agents during contract negotiations they will look around at other athletes in similar positions/stature when deciding how much money they are looking for in a contract. For example Tony Romo's agent waited for Marc Bulger to sign a contract before asking for money in the vicinity of that contract. It is an agent's job to find out what other athletes are making so their client makes money on par or a little better to other athletes of comprable skills/experience. So it is not that far-fetched to think that Huerta's agent knows what other top LWs are making and would demand similar numbers for Roger. It seems as though Roger is drinking his own Kool-Aid here. The UFC feeding him competition has only served to inflate his ego, quite unjustifiably.

this fucking pisses me off, i have never been a big fan of his b/c he never fought anyone in the ufc until guida, they have gave him easy ass fights just like bisping to tap into new markets, i think its bullshit and he doesnt deserve to make anywhere close to bj...i cnat wait for either kenny or BJ to fuckin demolish him

Haha, yeah, I think Affliction is only now starting to build up a LW div with the recent signing of that IFL standout guy Chris Horodecki. Other than that, who knows? I bet Affliction could easily land Gomi, Hansan, Alvarez, Nick Thompson, Diaz, Uno, Aoki, or KJ Noons...I know these guys are fighting with other orgs, but they don't have exclusive contracts, so they can fight anywhere. If it's money Roger is asking for, Affliction seems to have a ton lying around.

LOL, thats a great reply. This guy could get 3 fight deal at 75k to show, 75k to win...3 fight deal thats a gurantee of 225,00, and 450,000 if he wins all his fights. 3 fights in one year worth 450,000 and you are not ranked top 10 lw, thats not bad.

At least Randy was ranked, a huge draw, and aging. Huerta will get Vera'd.

Huerta deserves a better contract and money ( UFC is cheap).Huerta is a good fighter but like the guy said he has only been fighting B level fighters besides Guida and Guida was winning the fight till the big knee in the 3rd . Huerta doesnt deserve PPV he is not a fighter where Im like yes he is fighting and going to pay $50 dollars to see him Headline a card vs Frankie Edgar for a title shot.Now I do think UFC will give him good money if he beats Kenny. They have built him up all over the world and I wouldnt be surprise if UFC holds event in Mexico in the next few years with Huerta on the card.

No doubt that the UFC underpays their fighters but it was a bad decision by Huerta to speak out publically before a win over Florian.
