How to take Chuck down.

Am I the only one who's see's this man's weakness? Chuck throws these long range bombs all the time. Thats why people try to shoot in on him. ANYONE can sprawl like crazy. You just lay down and let your weight do the work. Look at ufc 43 with Randy's first shot. He didn't shoot for the lower legs, he used higher body locks. I think the key is not being a pussy and getting to his inside. (it's hard cause who isn't afraid of chuck?) Get a thai clinch and then shoot. When Randy stopped him the first time he body locked against the fence and then went for a take down when Chuck couldn't sprawl because he was against a fence. Then after he got him down he mounted. Chuck will stand up at ANY TIME. The ONLY way you can't stand up is when someone has mounted you. Even from a side mount it's possible to twist and push up hard before they can get hooks in. If babalu dosen't shoot and clinches, he can win. And from there he's gotta look to get Chuck against a fence and mount asap. Anyone else feel this?

I agree that upper body greco roman style take downs are better in MMA but Liddell is very good at avoiding the clinch.

As I recall, both Randy II & III tried this as well as Jeremy Horn once or twice with zero success. Do you think you've figured out something that these guys did not?
