Icon9 How come the TUF coaches NEVER choose a GRACIE as a BJJ coach?

After watching TUF last night, and thought poped into my head: How come every year on TUF, the coaches NEVER choose a Gracie for a BJJ coach? It seems like it would be a good choice. So why do they never choose a Gracie as their BJJ coach for the show?

Probably because they bring coaches who they take to camp with themselves. Any of the coaches so far are not known to have Gracies in their camps.

They usually choose guys they train with or thier coaches as coaches....so if they don't train with any Gracies....

I don't think the Gracies play second fiddle...they would probably want to be the main coach

This is the impression I get. I remember watching that special about the UFC and Rorion (I believe) was talking about how he won't even watch the UFC now. I get the impression that the Gracie's feel slighted by the organization that they founded.

I don't know, but they aren't the be all, end all of BJJ, as someone mentioned before. Nor are they the best choice for adapting BJJ to MMA.
