Houston Alexander and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou seperated at birth?

One can't help but see the similarities between the two. Sure, I still regard Sok's accomplishments higher... KO'ing a Nog and then walking through Arona... but he still has that recent KO loss to pull him back a bit whereas Houston has had a clean slate for some time. But this is not to compare the two against each other, but instead to compare their similarities and the questions left unanswered.

For both of these guys we know they have it. They both exploded onto the scene and walked over some very tight competition, but what is also similar between the two is that we haven't really seen them pushed in a war of attrition. We haven't seen them pushed to the limit and come back from it. No, the Jardine fight doesn't count as Houston still had his bearings. I want to see both of these guys pushed by top competition... pushed like Page and Hendo, knocked to the edge of defeat like Nog/Herring 3 or Marcus Davis/Paul Taylor... because one can only keep up the 1 minute KO's for so long.

The point is that there is a lot of hype surrounding these two and a lot of similarities but I am not yet ready to jump on either bandwagon to hype these guys as the next big thing... not until I see them really tested in a war of attrition.

I think Sok will beat him if they fight. The guy is just a freakin' powerhouse. Not taking away from Houston, i just think Sok is built like a tank.

soko is much better prospect than Houston no comparison.
Soko is younger. trains at a great camp. SOLID credentials. KO'd better competition. More athletic.

Like I said, I am not comparing whom would win out of the two, just how they both exploded onto the scene in dramatic fashion with 2 quick fights against higher level competition. I'm just not ready to jump on either bandwagon until I see them pushed.

Sok was a world famous Judoka long before he stepped in an mma ring. I don't know much about H.A., but I can't imagine he has the grappling credentials that Sok has. If they were to fight I think Sok would just throw him and either submit or pound him out on the ground. I don't think this fight would be close.

soko's ridiculous, too bad he's floating in the wind now (apparently)

houston is still mostly hype imo

jardine woulda ko'ed him if he'd thrown one knee. houston was wide open, jardine had the thai clinch, he was begging for it. then jardine did nothing. houston got in and the rest is hilarious

It's kinda scary watching these guys fight. You start thinking MMA is going to be power over skill.
