With all of that said, the commentary on both shows was simply atrocious. Not just because the action and general noise in the arena were often louder than the commentators, but the overall lack of energy in the commentary booth (which may have attributed to the pBp being difficult to hear). While I like Trigg as a fighter and I think Kenny Rice does a good job playing second Fiddle to Bas, they don't need to do commentary with one another again... ever. Because Kenny Rice was one of the commentators I assume that you guys control who does commentary for the Dream Shows. Bas already does work for you on Inside MMA and he is almost unanimously agreed upon as the best commentator by those of us in the know. Sitting him on the sidelines and giving Trigg the nod seems like a major blunder. You could easily put together a Bas / Quadros or Bas / Mauro (sp.) team and give the events more energy. More energy in the booth translates into more energy in the living room, which would likely translate into more HDNet subscribers.
Also, thank you for not having the camera on Ron Kruck during the shows intros. That was really disappointing on the Fedor card and I was thrilled to see that improvement.
Keep up the good work and your subscriber base will keep growing.

Agreed, for the most part.
I don't really like Bas/Quaddros or Bas/Mauro, but I really wasn't digging the commentary on the Dream events (or the royalty free rock that overwrote the actual entrance songs... did you only purchase three royalty free tracks? It was wretched and despite my desire to watch the entrances I started fast forwarding every time).
The commentary team seems to get a little lost.
They talk about other matches than the one that is happening.
They often talk about a position change that is coming, then don't change what they are seeing when a position change actually happens.
They don't seem excited to be there.

Ryan Ford will be worth the admission though...

FYI - licenses were not acquired in time to use fighter entrance music for DREAM.1 and DREAM.2. For the live fights, all licensing is already cleared, so you will get to hear actual fighter entrance music.
Commentating on Dream.3 will be Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten.
Dream.3 airs live on HDNet Sunday, May 11 at 3 AM ET. Until then, check out the HDNet Fights Facebook page for video clips, Inside the Arts with Guy Mezger, and more.

Oh snap, thanks for the info... I didn't even know HDNET had a forum representative here.

I prefer not to be a "forum representative", but just an MMA fan who happens to work for HDNet. I can talk MMA all day about any topic, and look forward to proving it.

Thanks.
That was actually pretty helpful.
So starting with Dream.3 I'll be hearing the actual entrances?
I'll be DVRing them, so this isn't a huge concern, but re-airings for the coming Dream events, will they also have the actual entrance music?
I've always been confounded that my UFC dvds have knock-off music playing (a far wider array of mediocre, generic rock music than what played during Dream.1 and 2).
I'm very pleased to get HDNet Fights.
HDNet is the only reason I upgraded to HD cable.

This is awesome news! Original music + Bas commentating go a long way towards giving it the good ol' fashioned Pride FC feel. It's almost as if HDNet was made by MMA fans for MMA fans.

MFC really is an underrated show. I think Ryan Ford is a good contender, and the Carmozzi/Forbes match from the February show was insane, bloodier than the Rory Singer/Josh Haynes match. They are putting together some good cards up north, and developing some young talent.
June is also going to be an awesome month for HDNet, with Dream 4, Sportfight live from Portland, and Strikeforce featuring Gilbert Melendez at the end of the month. Possibly our most well-rounded month of broadcasting yet.
