Boxers have a better Defense of punches B/C that is the ONLY THING TO DEFEND!!!!
EXACTLY!! this couldnt have been said better.

Or maybe its that Boxers have big freaking pillow cushions strapped to thier hands to block other punches that are coming from other guys with big sofa cushions on their hand. Lets not forget that boxers don't have to worry about defending kicks or takedowns. So basically yes a boxer will be somewhat better at defending punches cuz thats all they have to worry about. Its not like 4 oz gloves, kicks and takedowns are coming at them.

In closing Lamps is a big ol bitch with a big mouth. F - him.....

Too bad. Lampley and Merchant are big names in combat sports. All we need now if for Emanuel Stuart to mouth off.

HBO Boxing sucks balls. Lampley and Merchant will be employed by ESPN Classic by next year b/c that's where all boxing wil be by that time. ANCIENT HISTORY!
At this point I honestly hope you are right. I am disgusted with the biased announcers, primadonna fighters, and dirty promoters. Not to mention the sport has become plain boring to watch. I don't see how boxing fans can't admit that MMA is more exciting and alot easier on the eyes. Also, they need to admit that their heroes would get MURDERED under MMA rules, regardless of how great their hands are. Let's see them block punches without pillows on the ends of their hands to help.

I boxed for three years under USA ruling and I've only sparred MMA, and I can tell you this, it's a lot easier to defend yourself against punches only than it is to focus and the full spectrum of kicks, punches, takedowns, slams, ground game and sub defense.
