I seriously can't believe that some people think Frank Mir is even on skills with big Nog.
Maybe is the UFC that's trying to promote him for the fight here in the forums...

Just give me a good reasoning-argument....

What Mir has done in order to be even compared to Nog?

His BJJ is basic at best. He couldn't defend against Brock Lesnar and needed the ref help in order to restart position, yes he caught him in a kneebar, wow big deal!... Submit a wrestler without experience in BJJ... so difficult.

He submitted Hardonk ???

Lost to Vera and was demolished by BJJ dimensional Cruz...
Then 4 years ago armbarred big tim... that was ok...

but he doesn't have a chin, no cardio, strikes come on... good enough for a gassed out Wes Sims, that's it.

on the other hand we have the greatest HW fighter ever... (I know what you are thinking, ok... but I'm the biggest fan of the nonfinishable Nog. so give me a break)

Nog submitted Mirko, Big Tim, Gary Goodrige, Mark Coleman, Heath Herring, Dan Henderson, Schilt, Bob Sapp (not a good fighter but a huge MF), Inoue, Tamura, etc.
He was in the greatest wars again Fedor, who couldn't finish him. Decisions over top 10's HW. etc.

His Boxing is years ahead of Mir, his chin... no comments here everybody knows. His cardio amazing too, he never stops coming even if he's getting beat all the time.
Nobody could finish Nog, never...

So please tell why do you think that Frank Mir has even a chance to win this fight...

I agree 100%.

Mir is a shell of his former self and has lost to anyone lately who is in the top 25 of the HW division. He has beaten NO ONE to earn this shot. Its a fucking joke.

Mir has a lot of athletic advantages. He's bigger, stronger, faster, longer reach. But his gas tank is a huge question mark obviously. I'm not impressed with his chin either, but who has Nog ever KO'd?

Anyways I love Nog as much as the next straight guy, and I think Nog is a big favorite to win it on technique and conditioning, but if Mir shows up in great shape and ready to go hard for 5 rounds, I think he'll make it closer than most think. I'll reiterate my past prediction: If Mir doesn't gas out, this will be close. I don't think that Mir will get 'caught', and taken out early.
