Well it's Marcelo Garcia, not Gracie. & Penn would be able to hang with him for awhile. Penn might not beat Marcelo, but he'd hold his own in a pure grappling match against anyone in the world within 30 pounds of him. Just like everyone thought Randy Couture would get subbed easily by Jacare & that didn't happen. When you're training at the top level as alot of these mma guys, no grappler on the planet will easily sub you (except for possibly Roger Gracie).

who knows. Marcelo has easily subbed guys that are at the top of the grappling world. The main reason Randy hung with Jacare was that he used his superior grappling to keep the match standing and to make damn sure he wasn't on his back. He also outweighed Jacare. It's not like he went out there, took Jacare down and proceeded to play the sub game with him.

fight finder can answer a lot of questions before making a senseless thread that you will get a lot of flack for... in future reference

Maybe in training. My old BJJ instructor had a bunch of pictures of he and BJ training together but didn't have any stories of submitting him. Doubt he'd go around bragging about it anyway.

That's not really pertinent though. Since the TS is incompetent apparently, no he's never been subbed in MMA or high level BJJ (never allowed a point in the Mundials). He, at least at one point, was the best BJJ practitioner in the world.

Now, it's a toss up between Jacare, Roger (with Roger defeating Jacare via RNC at the last ADCC that Roger won), Marcelo Garcia, and BJ Penn. I'd really like to see him start competing in BJJ tourneys again.

Would be fun to see him tangle with the likes of Marcelo, Shaolin, Aoki, and a few Gracies who all seem to hate him.

My question is- has BJ ever been cut? It seems as though you can hit him in the head with a telephone pole and never rock or cut him.
