i dont think either are A class fighters....and altho fisher is more rounded fighter it hink melvin oculd overwhelm him on the feet....dont get me wrong i hate guillard as hes unclassly little punk, and iw ould love to see guillard lose....but guillards weakness is on the ground n fishers known to bang it out which prolly owuldnt be a good idea against guillaird.....id say guillaird by KO round 2...or fisher by sub but i dont see that happening.

This is going to be an insane fight. We haven't seen someone fight Melvin that is as good a striker as Spencer. The only person that has rocked Spencer has been Franca and Melvin hits pretty fucking hard. I see this being a fucking war for sure.

All i gotta say is the ufc clearly wants melvin melvin to climb back up the ladder because they know whether people like him or not, they tune in to watch him fight. They want melvin to win this fight because they feed him probably one of the few contenders that doesnt match up very well with him. They know that florians going to own huerta so they're trying to set up the blockbust rematch of melvin vs huerta. Just an observation

Guillard vs. Fisher could be added to UFC 90
Posted by Sam Caplan
A lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Spencer Fisher is in the process of being finalized for UFC 90 on Oct. 25, according to a report on MMAWeekly.com.

The report indicates that both fighters have been sent bout agreements that are expected to be signed in the coming days.

Fisher’s trainer, Pat Miletich, isn’t exactly pleased about the tentative matchup.

“Spencer has no reason to fight that guy,” Miletich is quoted as saying by MMA Weekly’s Tom Hamlin. “I don’t think Melvin’s earned the right to fight him yet. I think Spencer should be fighting somebody where he’s got something to gain.”

Guillard is 21-7-2 lifetime and holds a record of 4-3 in the UFC. He returned to the Octagon at UFC 86 after a one-fight sabbatical from the promotion and was victorious last month when he TKO’d Dennis Siver at 0:36 of round 1. Prior to the win, he has suffered consecutive losses while in the UFC.

Like Guillard, Fisher also has 21 career wins against four defeats. A veteran of nine UFC fights, Fisher is 6-3 while competing in the Octagon and holds notable wins over Thiago Alves, Matt Wiman, Dan Lauzon, and Sam Stout. He last competed in June during the live season finale for the seventh installment of “The Ultimate Fighter,” recording a unanimous decision victory over Jeremy Stephens.

UFC 90 will emanate from just outside of Chicago in Rosemont, IL at the Allstate Arena and will be headlined by Anderson Silva defending the UFC middleweight title against Patrick Cote

fisher is another guy who will never be champ, but you have to respect. the guy fights anyone and puts on a show. no evasive, back peddling, lay and pray or other stuff. he comes to fight and fights.

I say bad night for Fisher. Melvin is faster and is more athletic. I cant see Fisher hanging with him unless Melvin tires out which has happened.

I know you're right but I wish it weren't so. He has all the tools but lacks the physical gifts of found at the top of the division. I see similar futures for Edgar and Florian.

He's had those chances and failed against Franca and Edgar. I think this is going to be a good fight.

Yeah I have a feeling Fisher will dominate this one. He's just gotta keep fighting guys like these and in a year or two he could be looking at a title shot, hell who knows.
