GSP VS KOS, holding your own short legal move?

You can see pretty clearly at the end of the second round of this fight, when GSP was wrenching out a kimura attempt that Kos was holding on to his own shorts to stop GSP from getting his arm free.

Although the angle on the PPV doesn't show it clearly, you can tell with about ten seconds in the round when GSP lifts Kos's entire body off the mat trying to get that arm free.

Is that a legal move? Can a fighter hold their own shorts in this scenario?

I do hear Big John saying at the end of the round that this is allowed. I guess he is the expert, but is that a good rule, if true?

I don't think it should be legal.

yes its legal

i agree with it, based on the fact that people aren't even allowed to wear pants or gis

i think that should be up to the fighter, so if they're allowed to grab onto their shorts or whatever, i'm cool with it

Kos has a pretty strong grip to have defended against the Kimura for most of the second round.

I must come out and say it...

I was wrong. I called Koscheck in this fight on many threads, and he was worked by St. Pierre. I WAS WRONG!
