GSP/Canadian Olympic Wrestling Team?
So tonight i was watching the GSP/BJ fight.
duh
and I remember hearing Goldie say GSP has been approached by Canada to wrestle in the 2010 olympics?
Anyone know of any truth to this?

Wrestling is in the summer Olympics. St. Pierre was thinking of trying out for the Beijing games, but I think he took a fight instead. That's what they were talking about.

GSP said it himself in an interview, he either took a fight instead, or was gonna go to the olypics if he lost, it escapes my memory at the moment...might be to do with the beer but hey....

He was going to try out for the team while he was waiting for the Hughes / Serra fight to go down.
Then Serra got hurt and he stepped in to fight Hughes

How could they stop him? If they tried, they'd poison the Canadian market they've worked so hard to gain. Not to mention, it'd be great PR for the UFC; can't you just see Dana using GSP, OLYMPIAN, as the poster boy for an "our fighters are the greatest athletes in the world" campaign?

Oh I agree! Id love to see GSP do it. Its just the whole Fedor sambo thing comes to mind.
