A great chin

People seem to think that you can go to the gym and some how get a great chin.
This my friends is impossible. The element of a great chin comes from your genetic background. Think im lying. Mark Hunt for example hes somoan right? They are really thick strong people (no homo) which allows him to take a punch. Having a good chin is basically coming from your heratige and how ur jaw is built.

I know alot of those words are wrong.

One more thing kimbo knocking guys out. Why do some people need to think those people have like no chin at all. No their not athletes but they still can take a punch. We are all human if we get hit it hurts some more than others depending on the person.

Ps. i know Kimbo is not the future of mma.

What about Sean Sherk? He got knee'd to the face 3 times by Franca. If your in shape like that (roids or not) you can recover much better.

it is mostly genetic, but i personally believe (as well as my training partners believe) that doing alot of neck work in the gym can help alot

Neck work and conditioning. Unless your chin is at the level of James Thompson or Olaf Alfonso, you can improve it.

It can be conditioned to a certain extent. Anyones first time hard sparring, they'll get jarred, hurt, rocked etc. After a year of it, not so much. You can get used to taking shots.

Resisting a clean shot "on the button" I cant say. Ive never been knocked out by a shot like that. (dont get me wrog Ive taking many a beating though)

If you build up your neck and jaw muscles they can become shock absorbers. I don't know if that will help if you get hit directly on the skull or the temple. In that case that's where genetics comes in and you would need a thicker skull.
