Gonzagas weakness, Randys advantage: Mental Strenght

I honestly wanted GG to win..plus I saw his youth, BJJ skills, weight AND attitude/mental strenght he displayed against Mirko to be the key factors to take Randy.

What GG lacked of last night, was something Randy really had tons of: Lots of mental strenght/attitude/self confidence ( which shoudnt be confused with arrogance)

This is what played a key factor, and what made Randy pass over GG like a wrecking machine.

Thoughts?

Gonzaga didn't lack any mental strength at all your completely wrong. What Gonzaga lacks is a good defense for the clinch game. He faught as hard as he could, but Gonzaga has a big hole in his game and Randy capitolized on Gonzaga's weakness. If Gonzaga was mentally weak Randy would've stopped him in the first round.

I think that GG was a product of UFC's hype machine, and a happenstance break. More so than he genuinely deserving to be there.
I believe you only saw what the UFC showed you. Had you actually ever seen any of GG fights (with exception to the CC fight) you would have seen him as being and underwhelming fighter.

Also its spelt "strength" you spelt it wrong 3 times.

BAD POST: Randy won and does have mental toughness, but I personally felt that Gonzaga was extremely tough just to keep fighting after suffering that devastating head smash to the nose. I would have stopped fighting and so would the peter that started this post. Gonzaga has my respect--and yes, that is mental toughness.

Dude if you ever had your nose smashed... its easy to give up.... you cant see right .. you cant breathe... but yeah you can fight... but only to a % ....

Props to Randy he brought his A game and is a better fighter than GG at this juncture... i think GG needed to work his clinch game specially that now Randy trains with Wandy!!

Wandy + Randy = one of the more lethal combinations to teach the clinch game

Randy was in excelent conditioning, had a gameplan an executed it flawlessly. Yes the broken nose took the game outa gonzaga, but randy was showed he could control the fight even before that point. Excellenet performance by Captain America.
