Glad to see most level-headed Sherdoggers understand....

..that tonights main event was a case of Babalu coming in with a bad gameplan and not discounting him as a fighter.. Sobral will remain my #1 fighter regardless of tonight, he knows he made a mistake, i just hope the UFC doesn't punish him for it. I'd like for "casual" UFC fans to know how good he is, and i hope UFC doesn't stick him back on the bench just for this loss to one of the best light-heavies in the sport today..

arlovski had a bad gameplan in his last 2 sylvia fights - whats your opinion on that.
randy had a bad gameplan his last 2 chuck fights - whats your opinion on that
tito had a bad gameplan versus chuck - whats your opinion on that

sounds like a case of a babalu stan in denial - go die - whitebelt

I agree with you. I was talking up Babalu to everyone in the house (who obviously favored Liddell) as a guy who just might beat him. However, the moment I saw Babalu rush in, I knew it was over. BJM gave Babalu all the chances in the world to recover and he couldn't put up an intelligent defense.

Congrats to Chuck for retaining, and yes, I hope Babalu remains a top contender in UFC's eyes.

I was thinking the same thing after the KO. Chuck is a better fighter obviously but now when I go to work on Monday I will have every dickhead TUF fan talk about how "that brazilian guy was a pussy" or something equally pitiful.

Babalu = great fighter with lousy gameplan. Agreed.

the hell are you talking about? "stan"? Chuck won the fight.. i'm not in "denial" about anything. i simply know how good Renato is and that he didn't fight the way he should have tonight.. get off my nuts.. sounds like a case of a guy that doesn't know how to think before he types..

Gameplans are something everyone has. Chuck had his and it was to kick Sobral's ass no matter how he did it.

Well, he did just that - and sometimes you just have to stop coming to the defense of the loser because he got beat. Sobral is a good fighter, detemined as all hell, but you know what? Sometimes people just get beat. Once they're in there, I don't think any of us could understand what their gameplan is or isn't. They have two gameplans: win, and don't get beat.
Sometimes those two don't happen, and we saw that tonight....

That was so frustrating! I didn't care who won, I just wanted Babalu to show up. I think he let the last 3 years of anticipation get to him and just psyched himself out and got over-anxious.

I think he is a very good fighter, but I can't understand what the hell happened tonight. That was a very bad performance. Maybe the pressure of a title fight got to him and he choked.
