nobody knows any detail about this story. It may have been a bitch move, it may not have been, but just because McCray doesn't like it, doesn't mean it wasn't justified. Either way, the fact that people really care about this is ridiculous. People get hired and fired all the time...it's akin to the media fixating on some kid who was kidnapped...like it doesn't happen every day or something. I feel bad for Brad, but it's not really any of our business.

Well don't get me wrong I actually enjoyed listening to Brad on the radio. He seemed like a nice guy. But as far as being qualified...I don't know. His writing and more importantly editorial abilities may have been quite developed but how can you work for the world's largest MMA website as the Editor when you're MMA based knowledge is lacking. I am far from an MMA expert and closer to the newbie end of the continuum, but even I was able to recognize moments on the Beatdown where McCray didn't really seem to know what he was talking about. It just seems to me that this would be a major prerequisite for the job.

Just a thought. As far as the level of writing on Sherdog....it is somewhat lackluster at times and many of the writers do write in a less professional manner than you see on some other websites. While I appreciate humor in articles...every article does not need to be laced from top-to-bottom with it. I will give you points for those remarks. Joe Hall is one of the few whose articles I actually enjoy reading on Sherdog. His feature of Dellagrotte was sweet.

This has already been addressed by the powers that be - as stated above.

Me personally - I never really cared for Brad, his knowledge of the sport didn't seem that high to me. Especially in comparison to Gross. Tough shoes to fill for Sherdog - hope they get it together soon.

I agree w/some of the other sentiments made concerning McCray. He definately seemed like a nice guy but his lack of MMA knowledge was striking. I mean, if he were just being "editor-in-chief" I doubt this would have been so apparent but the guy was trying to do a radio show 3 times a week w/basic "UFC" knowledge of the sport. I remember a couple of times listening to Beatdown and it ws CLEAR that TJ was the more knowledgable of the two. I mean, that is something you just can't have happen. Maybe Brad got a raw deal from Sherdog? Its hard to say. Maybe Sherdog hired him based on his resume without really weighing the importance of "in-depth" MMA knowledge that guys like Josh Grosh and as much as I hate to admit, Jordan Breen have...

BTW- I was SO wrong about Timmeh havin' a shot against Fedor. I figured I would go ahead and own up now. Fedor is D MAN!

If Brad's knowledge of MMA was so lacking as some have suggested why hire the guy in the first place? I would hope he was interviewed before they just handed him the position and they could have gauged his MMA smarts. I love Sherdog.com but personally I think the situation was handled poorly.
