yeah, but that doesnt mean you have to root AGAINST someone, which is the question being posed by the TS... just root for the other guy, or if you dont particularly care for either as a fighter, dont root, just watch and appreciate the match

there is WAY too much judging in our society man, show love to your friends and to the rest live and let live,,,the same applies here, they're not comic book characters they're atheletes, who you really dont know at all save for about 1 minute of talking and 15 minutes of athletic competition once every 3 months...not to mention when they do speek, they're wired for a fight, in an akward situation (infront of a camera speaking to millions" and they're going to say things maybew not exactly how they mean them, or, whatever they have to say to get themselves hyped for the match...not to mention how eddited all of those prefight interviews probably are for time constraints...or...how much words are put into their mouths by producers looking for "good television"

also, 98% of the people posting replies here are saying things like i hate so and so, not, i root against whoever faces my favorite guy

how does it feel to be king hater?

if karma worked the way i wish it did in my head, all of those fighters would go on tv after their matches and say well it was a good win but, i just wanna say, i really hate king meteor from sherdog...i hope he screws up the johnson account and his boss fires him, that guy sucks

or they could just form a line at your front door and each take a turn beating you up in front of your friends...whichever

Oh you must be talking about Melvin Guillard when he fought Roger Huerta. If you're talking about Roger Huerta when he fought Kenny Florian, it has yet to be proven.

I respect all professional mixed martial artists so I rarely "root" for or against any fighter. The shit they go thru day to day to prepair for their fights and to push themselves to become the best fighter they can be is amazing! I wish to GOD I had that type of time and discipline!
I'm not a fan of the pro wrestling / soap opera dramatics that have been brought over to MMA. It makes the athletes look less like sportsmen who are here to be the best they can in their sport and more like actors who are trying to sell a product.
I know that drama and hype helps sell tickets and ppv's (Ali was the best at it) but I don't feel that in mixed martial arts that there are "good guys" and "bad guys", just two athletes with amazing skill sets competing to see who's the better fighter.
All this being said, i'm not a fan of certain styles of fighting (and no, that does not mean that I would pay to see them lose... I won't pay to see them fight at all) such as the styles of Sherk and Lesnar, and I am a HUGE fan of the styles of Machida, Eddie Alvarez, Anderson Silva, BJ Penn (amazing fighter but he talks too much shit), and Miguel Torres but that doesn't mean that i'm "rooting" for them, it just means that I love watching their styles. If they're defeated, I don't get pissed because "my favorite fighter lost" because the chances are that their opponent put on an amazing performance and kept me entertained.
