Heh, though it had to do with him being Canadian.

Anyway, quality post.

MOST of them do. It seems more likely that he was nick-named because of his long limbs resembling a spider's legs.

Why dont you go start a "Forrest really won!" or a "Diego Sanchez Sucks" thread... if you don't approve don't post.

Frank "Twinkle Toes" Trigg: in his early days, he painted his toenails before every fight.

Oh, and I think I have an explanation for Josh Barnett's nickname; before he became a mixed martial artist, Barnett was a professional wrestler, and in pro-wrestling lingo, a "babyface" is someone who is liked by the crowd and a "heel" is someone who is hated by the crowd. "The Babyface Assassin," therefore, could refer to his gimmick in pro-wrestling; an unstoppable heel with a knack for knocking off the crowd favorites.

That's a good logical explanation, but I don't think it's correct. His site calls him the "Baby-Faced Assassin," which suggests that it just refers to him having a babyface. Even though Barnett is a little more square-jawed than the average baby-faced guy, he does look like he might still get carded in dim light. And I think he had the nickname from fighting before he went into pro wrestling.

For Spencer Fisher, you should probably also mention that a "kingfisher" is a type of bird. Also, Kingfish, sometimes called Kingfisher, was a character on Amos n' Andy. Neither really refers to Spencer Fisher, but I do think that's why he's called Spencer "The King" Fisher, and not Spencer "The Prince" Fisher, y'know?
