"The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine because it rhymes and it sounds cool.

Nick "Sticky Icky" Diaz because he gets stoned before he fights.

Matt "The Terra" Serra because he's a terra.

Ed "Short Fuse" Herman because when he was a kid he went to light a black cat and it had a really short fuse and it blew up in his hands, thus angering him and making him want to become a fighter.

Josh "Kos" Koscheck because he couldn't come up with anything better.

Josh "The People's Warrior" because "Kos" was taken.

Ralph "The Pitbull" Gracie - Supposedly the most aggressive of the Gracies but mainly remembered for getting kneed in the head a bunch of times by Gomi.

I believe "Muscle-Shark" was given to Sean Sherk by the Japanese fans in Pride. The Katakan for his last name is apparently the same character as the word Shark, and the muscle part is pretty self explanatory...

Akihiro Gono used to be nicknamed "Lights Out" in reference to James Toney, one of Gono's favorite boxer who shared that nickname...

Sakuraba was known as the "Gracie hunter" for his consecutive victories over members of the Gracie family...

Yoshihiro Nakao is nicknamed "Kiss" for his infamous kiss he delivered to Heath Herring, which resulted in him getting KOed before the fight even started...
