I was in the first class. It doesn't mean you have a job afterwards but the connections you make and the knowledge you get is well worth the money. Roy is very professional and will help out any of his students. It mainly deals with Boxing but they cover the MMA business very well. You will get to meet and talk to Armando Garcia who is the most important person in MMA right now. At the fist one they had Valor Fighting represented, PRIDE, and MMA fighter Nam Phan. It is a great time as all the students love the fight game and it is fun being around people who love the same things you do. The cost is well worth it and I plan on sending other members of my family so we can get something off the ground.

I learned alot, made great contacts and really got some knowledge on how to run a show and sponsorship and just everything, that was priceless. If you are serious about putting on your own promotion and have the $$$ to do it (nothing under $40,000) then Yes this is a great thing to go to!!

Why $40k? I've seen some pretty good shows put together with a budget of $20K and a little less sometimes. Just wondering.

Now that it is "sanctioned" in Cali there is a lot more involved. For one you need to get a $20,000 bond before you can get your promoters license. And thats just to get a chance to get an interview with the board to see if they think you have potential to put on a good quality show. Then they decide if you get a "temp" license for a one show try out. Who knows i mean it depends on what kinda show and where your gonna put it on.

I can't tell you anything about the FPU, however as a veteran of Roy's Sportscasters Camp of America, I can't begin to tell you what a good guy he is and how valuable his camps are. If nothing else, you walk out of these camps with connections which in itself is a valuable asset to have.
Roy's a great person, one of the true genuine people you'll ever meet. If any of you do wind up going, tell him Jason from the Class of 2004 (Kings Jumper Suit Guy, he'll remember) sent ya!
