How does training with Barnett improve Jackson's skills?

What areas do you think will improve the most in Rampage's game by training with Josh Barnett? How does Rampage make Josh better as well?

Does anyone have word if they plan to continue their training together?

I think both his wrestling and his striking will benefit from it. Barnett may not be the best at any of those things but being so big and strong make up for that.

Barnett would prob. help Rampage out with wrestling and subs the most and Jackson would help Barnett out with speed I guess???

Rampage's wrestling skills were probably greatly aided by Barnett AND Tito in his camp and that was a factor against Lindland for sure... on the flip side for Barnett, Rampage is still tremendously strong even for 205lbs is a very good to great striker when he's on... I do believe that Rampage could KO a hw. and thus poses some good sparring for Barnett.....

on the other hand - who knows what they are training together

although we all know that Rampage isn't going to turn into a submission guy from working with Josh, I think that he may pick up some decent ground finishes from him and mostly his sub defence should benefit massively from working with a sub guy as big as Barnett.

I agree with what's been said above, but I also think the honest answer is how many guys are on that level at all? Any time you can train with a top 10 guy in a weight class close to yours (remember, Quinton and Tito walk around at about 220-230), you should take it.

There aren't going to be wrestlers like Matt Hamill and Josh Barnett at the local Judo school in Memphis. I'm sure Rampage boucnes around between some of the top camps, but since there were several guys around his size in serious training that was a good place to be. BTW, I was really impressed with how well he wrestled against Lindland--Hamill, Ortiz and Barnett must have given him some good work.

I don't think that Rampage could help Barnett with ANYTHING. I think Rampage ia a very overrated fighter and that Lindland was robbed.

Lindland was definately not robbed. You should watch the fight - the descision could have come down either way and would been understandable. Hence the split descision

The Law was robbed, Rampage=hot garbage, all Rampage did was have two slams while being in the process of getting choked out(how Linland did not choke him out is a testimate to Rampage), Rampage never once in the whole fight took control or tried any punches. His offense was non-existent and his defense was shown up bad by a great wrestler. The Law in short atleast deserves a rematch, but in my mind he easily won that fight. And for the record I don't even like Linland but I was damn impressed with his performance.
