Fedor's power (and greetings)

Hi all

I've just signed up, long time MMA fan from New Zealand. I'm looking forward to discussing MMA with you all, as a sport it is still unheard of in NZ, and when you tell people about it, well, you can imagine the reactions.

A bit about me. Don't train anything, plan on some BJJ soon though, I'd rather wrestle but that doesn't exist in NZ either. I'm prefer Pride to UFC, the ring to the cage, big fan of just about everybody, and I look forward to discussing marketing amoung other things, and I'll be relying on those of you in the states to let me know how Pride market their US soil debut. I will not be looking forward to any Pride vs UFC arguments, they both kick ass, and if you have even one to watch, thank your lucky stars. I love all MMA, I'm also looking forward to K1Heros. I had to get adsl to cure my addiction. Bloody hell!

But today, I want to talk about Fedor. I was watching a highlight clip (bored at work) and not for the first time, I noticed how heavy Fedor's hands are. Some poor Japanese fella (possibly a can) went down after being grazed by one of his shots. Serious, big boys like Big Daddy started covering up as soon as Fedors first blow landed. These are pros, they can take hits, but just about everybody has responded to Fedor's strikes in the same way. They don't trade, they don't like them, they usually get the f*ck out of dodge. He strikes so quickly too, it's misleading to watch it's almost like it's not damaging, the impact I'm sure is something that can truly only be appreciated in person.

Does anybody know anything about his training techniques? He is so relaxed, this has helped him in many situations (slams, sub attempts, both his own and defending them), and will certaintly help his striking, helping him strike with his whole body. Anyway, to watch him go is truly something else, and pretty much a mystery to me. Can anybody shed some light on the nature of Fedor's power? Does his frame help?

Finally, who has he not dominated with his strikes? CroCop? Arona?

Take it easy all, abuse the n00b, what have you.
