Man, I am so sick and tired of hearing this same old argument. EVERY fighter who has been in that situation has done it. Even the esteemed Chuck Liddell did it against Rampage when they fought in Pride. Chuck got mad at the referee for pulling his hand off of the ropes while Quinton was pulling him down.
This argument is as useful as a one-legged marathon runner. How many times have fighters in the UFC held onto the cage? It happens almost every time. It is natural to want to put your hands up against whatever you are leaning on.
And to say that Fedor would have lost to Lindland? I hope you were joking, because Matt had about no chance of beating Fedor. No offense to Matt, as he is a great fighter, but Fedor is levels above all other fighters right now.
I just saw a great video of Fedor & his brother in a sambo match. It was on YouTube, and Fedor pulled a simple but REALLY slick move to armbar his brother. In 30 seconds.
