I wouldn't be so sure about it actually. I think he'll be signed before the end of 2007.

Fedor has no responsibility to sign with the UFC if their offer doesn't satisfy.

There are more important things for him anyway - and besides, there are several top heavies not signed by the UFC.

Fedor fought more than Randy in the past 12 months. Mark Hunt beat CroCop which is enough for GG to be favored against Randy. Fedor beat him as well as the world's best MW and multiple UFC champ Mark Coleman, oh yeah and he won all by submission.

Hopefully Dana will sign him but if not then we can atleast look forward to great fights against Barnett and Kharitonov.

Listen to the Aug/31/2007 beatdown. They pretty much nailed the whole entire discussion about the UFC-Fedor signing thing
What was in the beatdown? Coudl you post a transcript or at least the key points?

The UFC doesn't need Fedor, they're the number one organization in the world. Fedor doesn't need the UFC, he's already rich, friends with the Russian president Putin, and well known in his home country (and probably doesn't care if he's well known in the US, any more than Shaq cares if he's well known in Russia).

Makes it hard to negotiate a deal when both can easily walk away from the negotiations without feeling they've lost a lot. The only people who suffer are fans who want to see him fight in the UFC.

Yup sir george that's exactly what I said as well in a couple of other threads.

Neither needs the other, so it's no big deal for them if they don't come to an agreement. The only ones who want the deal to really happen are the fans.

I guess since Randy beat Sylvia and Gonzaga, Couture ia able to beat Fedor anytime.

I'm pretty sure it's not the 2mil per fight that's preventing him from signing. If that's all it was Zuffa would gladly throw some more money his way. I agree that Gross pretty much covered it all on the beatdown.
