Again I state as I have before, I pick Fedor to win without question. On the other hand if Randy won it would surprise less than anyone else beating Fedor.

I only say this for a few reasons.
1. If Fedor signs with UFC Randy will be his first fight and he may have ring rust (although he has taken long breaks before it could happen)
2. Fedor has not fought in a cage and it does appear to cause trouble for people the first time
3. Not fighting in a cage before, Fedor has not had to deal with Randy's type of game plan. i.e. shoving him against the cage, clinching and dirty boxing
4. Randy always has a good game plan and performs well as an underdog.

But again I reiterate I would not pick against Fedor

Fighting in a cage, elbows, being prone to cuts, and never facing a greco dirty boxer is not near enough to edge the bout in Couture's favor, let a lone have 80% of these idiots picking him to win. Fedor is a better striker, has better subs, his hips and sambo game would reverse and own Randy in TDs. Equal cardio, Fedor has better chin, equal smarts or Fedor is better. Fedor is bigger and stronger as well. He's also a better athlete and quicker with his hands and feet.

Nice stats, but if we posted CC's stats vs. GG's stats and based who would win off those stats alone we would have been wrong.

I totally believe Randy would be more of an underdog than ever, but he would have a chance, IMO. Until they fight this is all obvious mere conjecture (which I'm not saying is a bad thing on an MMA forum~ ), though again all the stats regarding Fedor's wins and being undefeated title holder for many fights do point to him being the man. Watching the fights, themselves, has me more convinced in Fedor's ability to win than the stats, though.

Rushtallica, I, like you, have actually seen all of Fedor's fights in PRIDE. Anybody who watches not only who he beat, but how he beat them, would realize Randy wins this fight 1 out of 50. There's a huge difference between Gonzaga and CC and this fight. On CC's record I see a fight vs Randleman where he was KO'd for much of the same reasons Gonzaga beat him. Fedor isn't CC, he doesn't make those mistakes, and his record proves it.

I like Randy and all but he never deserved his title shot to begin with. The only reason he got it was because Dana was desperate to get the title off of Tim's waist as quickly as possible. Think about it, prior to his title shot, he got KTFO by Chuck. His last loss wasn't even at HW. In other words, because he got KTFO in the LHW div and got sent into retirement, he gets a shot at the HW? Talk about absurd. It would be like giving CC a title shot at Randy immediately after he got KTFO by Gonzaga. Don't get me wrong, he definitely beat Tim and Gabe fair and square but he never really earned the opportunity to begin with.
