I would like to see it in due time. Another bely would be nice. I know some people don't like the smaller guys but, would'nt you rather see a featherweight title fight on a so-so card than a boring as hell heavyweight prelim.

Good post.

145 should have it's place or more 145 fighters should be used and matched up against one another at 155. If they can have Hominick fight at 155 then there are many other 145 fighter they can have fight at 155 and match them up against one another. To continue to leave out the insane amount of talent only deprives everyone of great fights. Everyone knows this past k1 heros event best fight was between a true 145lber in Menjivar in his bout with Tokoro, but of course people will continue to be stupid and get left with bullshit like UFC 62 which is a reward for their stupidity.

and people like to bring boxing into this, but the fact of the matter is that boxing's most memorable fights have taken place between lighter weight class fighters such as MAB, Morales,Manny, Gatti, PBF. etc, these are some of the best fighters in that sport, and without them the sport would be fuckin completely dead. As MMA continues to grow and evolve the lighter weight fighters should definitely find their place in the big shows.

theonly way it would work, is if they were to do a bushido-like mini-org within the UFC and have it strictle on hbo/spike and the occasional PPV. otherwise there would be no chance to build up fighters. why not use the tv deals to build up the lighter weights... say have 185/205/hw 10-11 times a year, and 170/155 7-8 events a year that way they could have more than enough face time to push current champs and build up contenders.

I think it will happen, but that's still a ways down the road. Right now we need the LW division to take off huge and stir up more interest in the little guys. A lot of brand new casual potential MMA fans start off wanting to see the biggest and baddest and it's only after these casual viewers fully understand the sport and tech involved that most will enjoy watching the smaller and faster guys.
