Quickest UFC submission..?

Hey Sherdoggers!

I need your help! I'm doing some research for a project and was wondering what the fastest UFC submission was as I need it to prove a point that a submission can occur at any time during the fight, not just in the later rounds. I know there some in pride, and Rumina Sato is the man, but need one from the UFC.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Maybe Frank Shamrock vs. Kevin Jackson? I think it was like 14 seconds or something.

Edit: Just looked it up on fightfinder, it says 16 seconds. Jackson got the quick takedown and on the way down Shamrock put in the armbar.

Yeah, not the OLD old days, but shortly after the tournament days ended. It was at the first UFC Japan event.

Matt's 2 losses to hallman combined are 37 seconds. 17 for the guillotine and 20 for the armbar.

Wouldn't happen again, and it shows how far he's come too.

For olden days, Royce beat Ken Shamrock in 57 seconds at UFC 1. That's got to be a good example for the project, both of them being so famous and all.

But fastest would have to be Oleg Taktarov against Anthony Macias at UFC 6. 9 seconds for a Guillotine... also old days though.

For something recent, I don't know... others will come up with good answers.

Stout vs. Florian ended in like two minutes, didn't it? That's pretty fast and really recent.
