The Essential Sherdog Chute Boxe thread. *Please Read*
Let it be known , my plan is to somehow, someway , create a few threads that can be updated and kept as a “source” of accumulated info from the die-hard fans of MMA. This will be the test thread.
I’ve always said the reason to visit Sherdog was because it houses perhaps the most devout fans of any sport…and sometimes, we can share gathered information about mutual interests. As my knowledge only exceeds so far, I ask anyone with informed opinions regarding Chute Boxe, its fighters, and its history to step forward in adding to this thread
( it’s the only way this will work) So without further adieu …
The essential Sherdog Chute Boxe thread.
Current fighter list :
Daniel Acacio
Luis Azeredo
Nilson De Castro
Jadson Costa
Andre Dida
Osmar Diaz Fernandez
Julio Cesar Jamanta
Gildo Lima
Jorge “Macaco” Patino
Claudio Popeye
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
Murilo “Ninja” rua
Evangalista “cyborg” Santos
Marcelo Santos
Antonio “Elvis/Nino” Schembri
Jean “white bear” Silva
Wanderlei Silva
Fabio Tigrao
Mauricio Veio
Trainers list :
Rudimar Fedrigo
Cristiano Marcelo
Rafael Cordeiro
Ullisses Pereira
Former Members:
Anderson Silva – left 2003
Assuerio Silva – left 2003
Jose “Pele” Landi jons- Left 2002
Chute box was created in 1978 as a Muay Thai Gym, and would later transition to MMA in 1991 after head trainer Rudimar Fedrigo witnessed a MMA style fight (not sure which)
Again, please feel free to chime in with anything concerning Chute boxe .

Jose Pele Landis –
Rumored to have fought more than 100 illegal street fights before meeting with Rudimar Fedrigo. Pele helped to solidify the reputation and prestige of the Chute Boxe academy with his victories over heralded BJJ specialist Jorge “Macaco” Patino . (Patino would later go on to join Chute Boxe) .This would be a huge turning point for Chute boxe. During his lackluster career period of 2001-2004 Pele would fight a total of 5 times, losing them all. During this period, a loss to Carlos Newton during PRIDE 19 would end his relationship with Chute Boxe mysteriously

considering the climate of Vale Tudo/Luta Livre in those days..... a illegal street fight meant " noones gunna stop this fight , someone might die" as opposed to street showdowns between groups. Pele is rumored to have killed a couple people from what i remember. If so, it Probley added to Chutes Reputation in brazil as well.
Ill try to add more later , depending on how much support this thread gets.

Jose Pele Landis-
Is also the person responsible for the initial Chute Boxe Training given to current Chute Boxe standouts, Murilo "Ninja" Rua, and his brother Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
