I voted for GSP but honestly, the boxers will probably win, even though GSP could whip all thier asses in a fight.

ok, tell me why GSP deserves it.

First he beats the number 1 contender, and arguably the hardest hitting fighter at 168 and 160 in boxing. Absolutly DESTROYS him, despite being a 3-1 underdog.

Pavlik beat the undisputed champion to gain the titles, AFTER being put to the ground by a brutal combo. And he won it in brutal fashion himself. Then he CLEARLY won the rematch.

Then he beats the UKs best middleweight, who might not have been that great a challange, but he was in the top 10. But he obliterated him.

GSP beat Koshcheck in a fairly boring fight. Koshcheck isnt even top 5 welter. Then he beats a past-his-prime Hughes, but that is still a good win. Then he beats serra who is 9-5 and normally a lightweight and they were only rematching because GSP got pwned by him in a huge upset.

I guess my avatar says it all because Larry Merchant is a great boxing mind and a good journalist. I take after him very well and try to remain objective in my analysis of the poll.

edit: and way to answer my question on what GSP did to deserve to win. Dumbass
