1. ESPN did the nominations, and GSP was the only MMA fighter on the list. Nothing to be done about it.
2. Anderson may be the better fighter, but I'd asy GSP has done more this year. He beat an extremely credible wrestler at his own game, then owned a future hall-of-famer, then owned the guy with the belt. Anderson's year hasn't been as impressive, though this is a function of an arguably weaker middleweight division. If he does go to 205 and cleans out any three of Liddell, Wanderlei, Rampage, Griffin, and Tito, that's another story. As it sits, great opponents make great fights, and great fights make fighter of the year awards. Anderson just hasn't had the opponents.
