Empty seats? NO
So...of course people watching the PPV might say "hey, there were lots of empty seats at Pride Real Deal".
Well, geniuses, here is the difference. The UFC doesn't show the fans ALL of the fights on PPV. Therefore, by the time the PPV buyers see any seats, the event is well under way. Americans are always late to events.
Pride showed every single fight on the card which means that when the PPV broadcast started, the first fights hadn't happened and yes, lots of fans had not quite shown up yet.
When I've been to UFC events, most of the high priced ticket holders don't even show up for the first fight. If a UFC PPV actually showed the first fight of the night you would also see many empty seats.
By the time Pride showed the arena at the end of the event, it was quite a bit after the fights had ended and Americans also race towards the door as soon as an event ends.
Anyway, if anyone who was at the event could confirm the capacity that would be nice.
