Worst Way To Tap...

Wondering what you all think...

Some say tapping due to strikes is weak (Bo Cantrell)

Others say tapping with one second left in the round while caught in a submission is embarrassing (John Alessio)

Quitting on the stool is another one (GSP)

Not being able to see is another one (Gumby)

Being utterly dominated is another one (Jason Reinhardt)

Losing lots of blood is another one (David Heath)

GSP never quit on his stool. His only real submission loss was to Hughes when he tapped to the armbar with 1 sec left. Maybe you mixed up alessio and gsp's spots. Against Serra, he was tapping only after big john called a stoppage to the fight.

GSP should have fired his corner for not keeping him aware of how much time was left.

Tapping is a good thing. All the reasons you listed are legit reasons to tap. The last thing mma needs right now is an injury. One of the strongest arguments against people who think mma is barbaric is the ability to tap. When someone taps when they think their arm could be broken is a good thing.

lol tapping betwen rounds would be embarrasing also to strikes ...i mean cmon, true warriors don't give up from that crap. Now if your arm just got broken and its pretty obvious I suppose you could throw in the towel between rounds but thats the only reason haha. I've been choked to sleep once and it wasn't bad, woke up 30 seconds later a little light headed that was it. Might as well fight til you sleep

With the 1 second left when trapped in a sub thing it's a grey area. It could be that second that your arm breaks.

In Pride you were allowed to throw in the towel in the middle of a round weren't you?

Not tapping, but having your corner toss in the towel mid round. (Liddell)

For me its gotta be either a verbal tapout or a tapout with your legs... Of course the stool is also a bad one but only if its before the fight started..haha.
