No, we shouldn't ban punching too. The thing I don't like about some elbows to downed opponents is that elbows with little to no concussive force can cause a fight-ending cut. Punches with little to no concussive force do not cause fight-ending cuts.

Elbows that are used with concussive force, like the one Rampage used to KO Liddell, are great, IMO.

Well Vitors punch on Randy had very little concussive force but caused a fight ending cut.

UFC should be like Pride, with the card deduction system, and with elbows allowed. thus meaning elbows, soccer kicks, stomps, and knees to a downed opponents head are all allowed. And if you want to argue that this causes too many injuries well thats not rele a good point because i have witnessed fighters like sakuraba get kicked, stomped and pu tinto a bloody mess. and continue to fight in the next ppvs

Anyway. Does anyone have the finish vs. decision numbers for the UFC? I've compiled some info for Pride and I don't feel like doing the work on the UFC's numbers.
I did it for the last 15 UFC PPVs when I compiled the original stats for the post I made in ufcmania about the elbows thing.

(T)KO: 49
Submission: 38
Decision: 42
Stoppages: 4

So...out of 133 fights in the last 15 UFC PPVs, there's been about 1/3 of each, give or take a few.
