Icon12 Drug Testing Fighters Only Costs $278.40 each - Yet the dont test everybody..why not?

In this new ERA, of the UFC finally making lots of money and MMA as a whole, doing much better......Why in the world, at a cost of ONLY $278.40 per fighter, would the Nevada State Athletic Commission NOT TEST EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER, at every single event?????

NSAC has said that they only tested 2 fighters out of 18, for the Ultimate Fight Night on June 24th '06 (and no fighters were tested, that where competing in the Main Event)!

The NSAC said they only tested 1 fighter, out of 16, for UFC 61 which was on July 8th '06!!!!

When the NSAC was asked why they dont test all fighters....?
quote: "its too expensive..." unquote.

The UFC brought in well over 3 million just for the seats.....what a crock of shit!
Roids is cheating.....I want my favorite sport of MMA to stay that way..."my favorite"!

Is the NSAC really acting responsibly, with all the attention that Roids and Sports has been getting?

Thanx -

I would have to say that the Roids issue is not a big one in MMA right now. All championship fights have to be tested and once again this is grandfathered in from boxing.

I believe that if the public had a misconception that all UFC/MMA fighters were juiced than the UFC would test everyone but since it's not really an issue I'm confident that Zuffa just sees unnecessary testing as an expenditure that need not be made.

The UFC is not the same as NSAC. NSAC does the testing.

They tested 3 fighters on UFC 61, Monson was the random drug test(although it probably wasn't that random) and Sylvia and Arlovski tested because they are required to.

Because other sporting events would have triple the amount of people to test and would have to test more often. The UFC has around 12 guys fighting maybe 3 times a year in each event.

Streoids are definitely wide spread in sports no matter what, but I think fighterd today realize that juicing up and getting bigger is not the way to go, its too much for your heart to pump blood and o2 into their muscles during fights causing them to gas easy. But today they just juice up smarter, But over all steroids give a person a big edge making a case that all fighters should be tested before fighting like big boxing events.
