Dream Matchups
I am sure this thread has been done before but I will do it again if it has. If you could match any two fighters, past or present, from the UFC, Pride, WEC, Elite XC, IFL, Dream, Etc, who do you think would be the best matchups and why?
Mine would be Lyoto Machida against a Royce Gracie in his prime. I think those two different styles (BJJ) Vs (Shotokan), and Royce Gracie's infinite patience and ability to capitalize on even the slightest of mistakes could make it interesting. Machida likes to run and gets people frustrated to the point they do stupid shit and that is what he wants. Machida definitely has the striking advantage but Gracie has a good chin and has matched up well with other strikers like Savate Grand Gerard Gordeau or Judo Champ Remco Pardoel. I just think it would be interesting to see if Machida could frustrate the unflappable Gracie.

Royce was awesome back in the day because no one in the UFC knew how to defend against jiu jitsu, or even knew what it was. Machida would murder him.

I would like to see:
Rampage/Wandy III
Forrest/Chuck
Gonzaga/Fedor
Arlovski/Fedor
BJ/GSP
BJ/Gomi II
GSP/Alves
GSP/Fitch
Anderson/Lindland
Chuck/Shogun
Faber/Kid
Lawler/Franklin
I don't really include any fighters from the past because I think the level of fighters today is just way better than even the best fighters of yesteryear.

I thought you were joking at first and then realized you were serious.
I also thought this thread was serious and then realized it was a joke.
Edit: Sorry its actually a good thread but I just got so distracted by the first post.
