Icon13 does UFC allow fighters to tape their hands ?

just wondering. not trying to compare them to Pride or any one else.

but i remember seeing pics of someone in the UFC with their hands wrapped under the glove. i havent seen this in any other promotion. what's the deal with this? it probably helps with the onepunch ko's. i havent seen anyone get quarry'd in a promotion where they arent allowed to wrap their hands under the gloves. anyone else notice this?

All Orgs allow their fighters to tape their hands. Not just the UFC.

Under unifed MMA rules fighters are required to tape their hands. That's why anytime you watch TUF you always see the fighters get their hands taped before the fight.

in k-1 heros and pride you can choose if you want to wrap your hands or not, it's easier to go for subs without the tape of course. the nsac requires taped hands...

It's mainly to help protect a fighters hand. You can you use gauze and tape. Some use very little other a little more. You can not put tape on the knuckles only gauze. You can put tape up to the knuckles Stitch one of the best at wrapping hands in the business make your hands feel protected thus you feel you can punch harder. Stitch was the one in the ring with Forrest last night when he got cut?

(B) Surgeon's adhesive tape shall be placed directly on each hand for protection near the wrist. The tape may cross the back of the hand twice and extend to cover and protect the knuckles when the hand is clenched to make a fist.
(C) The bandages shall be evenly distributed across the hand.
(D) Bandages and tapes shall be placed on contestant's hands in the dressing room and must be inspected by the inspector or commission representative.
(E) The manager or chief second of the opponent may elect to be present when hands are being wrapped.
(F) Under no circumstances are gloves to be placed on the hands of a contestant until checked by the inspector or commission representative.
