The Difference between Griffin/Bonnar I and Griffin/ Bonnar II
The huge difference between their first and their second fight was that in the first fight they both were fighting with the mentality of "shit!, I got nothing to lose here, If I win I am going to touch the sky, if I lose I am going to go back to being the same nobody I was 5 months ago, If I lose I am not risking much because I got no record, I got nothing, so all my efforts are going to be to go out there and fucking bang like there is no tomorrow"
And over a year later, after they've fought many fights in the UFC, after they've made more money than they've ever made in their lives, after they've become famous, after all those perks they have enjoyed for over a year, they went to fight with this mentality:
"oh shit! I cant lose this... I can not be taken out of the poster and maybe Dana is not going to renew my contract because I am a loser... I better be careful fighting because if the other guy catches me I am dead, let me be more careful, hell no! I am not going to bang without protecting myself, even if I lose I can not be KO, that would completely fuck mt carrer here, at least if I lose by decision, Dana might give me a couple more chances...but KO, hell no!, I can not allow myself to be KO"
The banged like there was no fucking tomorrow in their first fight... in the second fight, they boxed like "there is a tomorrow and they dont want tomorrow to be that bad"

Did you really need to say so much to say so little? Yes, they were more cautious, but they both still fought hard.

nope not it at all. I'm Forrest boxing coach I'm not going to let the that sloopy shit that happen in the first fight happen again. He's making progress a learning not to over punch that will make him a more effective fighter.

First fight: They sucked, no KO power and gassed.
Second fight: Still sucked, not as hard, hit harder and didnt want to be hit as much, and... of course, no so much was on the line.

Hey Fight.DR,
I thought Forrest's striking was much improved in this fight...much cleaner and accurate...his footwork looked good too. He obviously has a good team working with him...keep up the great work. I look forward to his next fight.
