Did Brock Lesnar Make $5 million at UFC 100?
We know the PPV scale that Randy Couture has with the UFC, and assuming its the same for the top draws in the UFC, then combined with the known $400,000 salary that Brock Lesnar made at UFC 100, and the 1.72 million PPV buys that UFC 100 did, the PPV bonus would be $4,492,500. That makes for a total of $4,892,500. That's assuming Brock gets the same as PPV bonus as Couture. It's interesting to note that Brock made less in official Salary as defending champion, $400,000 at UFC 100, vs $450,000 as challenger ($250,000 to show, $200,000 to win bonus). It's also likely he's getting more PPV money. Who knows how much more, but it seems very likely that he topped $5 million.
Althought Oscar De La Hoya and Mike Tyson in their primes made more per fight, its very interesting to see how far MMA income has come. Doing 2 fights this year, it seems likely that Lesnar will do $8-10 million in 2009 after doing about $5 million for 3 fights in 2008.
Getting close to top professional athlete money (e.g. Football, Baseball, Basketball).

I also think that, but I couldn't even venture a guess as to what that higher share might be. We do know what Couture gets and have to assume Brock gets AT LEAST that much.

official PPV numbers have yet to be released, that is a guess at 1.72 million. It will likely land a bit lower.

Prior to the 100, Dave Meltzger(sp) said that both Mir and Brock would be near 2 million. For what it's worth, I remember that.

Well, not sure what the actual numbers are, but Dana White promised to do a backflip off Mandalay Bay if UFC 100 did over 1.5 million PPV buys and he confirmed on ESPN 1100 Radio that it did do over 1.5 million PPV buys. Still waiting for the backflip though.

That would assume about 850,000 PPV buys, which would have made UFC 100 one of the top MMA PPV's of all time . . . a safe guess. Who knew it would have been the 4th highest PPV of ANY KIND of all time:
#1 De La Hoya - Mayweather (2.4 million)
#2 Lennox Lewis - Mike Tyson (1.995 million)
#3 Evander Holyfield - Mike Tyson II (1.990 million)
#4 UFC 100 - Lesnar - Mir II (1.72 million)
#5 Evander Holyfield - Mike Tyson (1.6 million)
If Mir is on the same PPV bonus structure (seems like once you become champion, you get on that bonus structure, but I could be wrong), then he made over $4 million at UFC 100 as well. WOW

Good for Brock, he's marking more than he did in his WWE days without having to travel and risking his body every day.
