Dana's master plan regarding Wandy
I just had a funny thought. One that hits you out of nowhere.
Do you think that Dana's real reason for bringing Wanderlei in is for the seemingly inevitable rematch between Wandy and Tito? IF Wandy fights as many as 3 fights in the UFC I'm sure that one of those will be Tito.
I would think that popular opinion is that Wandy would put a pretty good hurting on Tito. We all know that Dana and Tito don't get along anymore and you could almost say that they hate each other.
Their relationship now is strictly business. Tito actually had a clause put in his contract where he gets to box (spar) with Dana for three rounds. Although Tito did say that after sparring with Dana maybe they could put their differences behind them. You have to think that during the sparring neither will hold back any punches.
Is bringing in Wandy Dana's way of getting Tito back? I mean in addition to making business sense. I'm sure Wandy/Chuck and/or Wandy/Tito will set attendance and PPV buy records.

That's quite a leap. And very conspiratorial/unrealistic.
Dana's top priority is the UFC. The UFC has invested millions of dollars and many years building up Tito Ortiz as a marketable fighter. To think that he would then want Wand to kick Tito's ass to fulfill this personal grudge you think he has, and consider that more important than what is good for the UFC is very far-fetched.
As far as your claim that popular opinion is that Wand would "put a pretty good hurting on Tito," I'm not so sure about that. Tito already beat Wanderlei once. And it's not like controlling GnP wrestlers like Tito have been so good to him recently. He is 1-1 against Arona and certainly didn't put too much of a beating on him even in (split-decision) victory.

Your looking at MMA like a soap opera.
Tito, Chuck, Wandy and Dana are all there for one thing, the money that will be made.

well I'm sure he expects to have Wandy fight Tito after Chuck but I don't think its for the reasons you stated.. though I'm sure he wouldn't mind if Tito got hurt a little.

great post Juggo, excatly what Juggo said... Could wand beat Tito??? yes... Could Tito beat Wand yes... to many pride nuthuggers on here dont want to admit to it, but Tito could very well win a fight with Wand again... Wand isnt nearly invisable as he is made out to be on this board.

If there is "another reason" for bringing in Wandy, it would be to get Randy to come back. He has said that he would consider coming back to fight Wandy. So maybe Dana sees dollar signs there, especially if Wandy beats Chuck.

I think Dana's master plan regarding the Wandy situation goes something like this...He believes in Chuck and thinks he'll beat Wandy. If not then he thinks Ortiz will. Failing that a big rematch with Chuck on Superbowl Weekend, so Chuck can be the American hero and make one final attempt to get the Title before Wandy can leave for "Japan" with it.( I'm sure U.S. MMA's poster boy vs. a by that time well known beastily Wanderlei Silva who would at that point be comming off wins over Tito and Chuck, AND it plays the patriotism card, AND it's kind of a UFC fans banding together thing. Now Im sure THAT won't sell a shit load of PPV's.) So let's be honest he's playing the odds the only thing that could possibly backfire is if Wandy takes all 3 fights, and still Dana get's a shitload of PPV buys and lets be honest if it goes that far UFC and PRIDE will be in pretty good together anyway so, I'm sure Dana will be able to send a guy over to PRIDE to try and get the belt back even IF it all backfires. All the while Pride is building a US fanbase. I don't see why either org needs a sneaky master plan, sounds good on both ends.
